Our class won a Popsicle party for turning in our library books!  The Popsicles were very yummy!

Olympic Day

Poetry Books

Today we shared our poetry books with a partner.  We have been working on writing all different types of poems.  We turned all of our poems into a poetry book.  It was fun listening and hearing all the great poems!

Shape Poems

Today in writing, we learned how to write a shape poem.  Students had the choice to write one on paper or to type one using a fun website.

Ice Cream Celebration

Today we had a ice cream sundae party since all the students have had great behavior on their buses. We loved eating ice cream in the morning!

Acrostic Poems

Today we learned how to write Acrostic poems.  We first tried writing these poems using our names.  We used a new website called Read Write Think to help us write our poems.  Students had the choice to use the website or to hand write their poems on paper.

Book Fair

This week we have a BOGO book fair happening at Crestwod.  Today your child is coming home with their requests.  They are able to buy books Tuesday-Friday of this week.  They can also donate their spare change to help Emory buy some books to read during his recovery this summer.

Poetry

As part of our poetry unit, we wrote poems today to Nurse Eva.  We mad our poems into cards and gave them to nurse Eva for Nurse's Day

Sound Poems

Today we took a walking trip around Crestwood school.  We listened carefully to the hallway and recess noise and wrote down what we heard.  Then we used our ideas and wrote poems about the hallway and recess.

Shapes

In Math we are learning about two and three dimensional shapes.  During our math stations we are working on several different activites with shapes.

New Groups

Today we moved our seats and made new group signs for our new  groups.  Our group names are: Wolf Scouts, Purple Unicorns, Outerspace Octopus, and Glowing Squids.

Oak Bend Library Field Trip

Book Clubs

Today in reading, we started book clubs!  We discussed book series and students picked what series of book they wanted to read.  Then we all discussed the characters in our books and how they were similar in every book.  It was fun to take on the responsibility of book clubs.

Painted Lady Butterflies

We are studying and observing our butterflies daily.  We have been writing in our Butterfly Journals and noticing all the changing that they are going through.

Sides and Angles

Today in math we discussed sides and angles of our two-dimensional shapes.  We sorted the shapes and counted the sides.  We learned that an angle is where two sides meet.

Sweet O Donuts

Today during our Junior Achievement lesson we learned about defects, innovation, productivity and quality.  The students made donuts to learn more about these new words!
